Forget your floral walls. Wallpaper is making a high-style comeback. According to Architectural Digest, wallpaper installations surged in 2024 and are trending upward in 2025 as a way to “infuse character and visual warmth into sterile spaces.” In Southwest Florida, that trend takes a coastal turn.

Our clients are embracing textured grasscloths, sea-inspired patterns, and soft organic palettes like seafoam green, coral, and driftwood taupe. It’s about adding tactile depth to expansive, open-concept homes that can otherwise feel impersonal. Accent walls in dining nooks or wrapped powder rooms are particularly popular, paired with rattan, cane, and natural linen textures.

Architectural Details Are Back — Just Not How You Remember Them

Traditional millwork is back — but today’s crown moldings and coffered ceilings look nothing like the heavy Mediterranean styles of the 1990s. Instead, designers are refining architectural details with lighter woods, simpler trim, and warm white or pale oak finishes.

As Forbes Home reported in its 2025 Interior Design Forecast, “Intentional architectural elements are replacing fast-fade trends, adding value and a sense of permanence.” In Southwest Florida, that translates to white oak paneling, driftwood-washed beams, and ceiling detail that brings dimension and craftsmanship back into focus.
