Full Remodel and Casita Addition in West Bay Golf Club

For this home in West Bay, we completed a full home remodel with a casita addition. After the home was flooded by Hurricane Ian, much of the interior had to be replaced. While it seemed like a daunting project, it provided the perfect blank canvas for Green Mountain Builders. We completely remodeled and updated the kitchen, main living space, and five bathrooms, while also converting a lanai into a functional casita.

Kitchen

In the kitchen, we updated the cabinetry with a modern, refined white finish. We built a new kitchen island featuring Pompeii quartz countertops and upgraded the flooring with Calacatta Sierra tile.

We also incorporated a smaller second oven and a hidden microwave to improve functionality, convenience, and ease of movement throughout the kitchen.

Main Living Space

In the main living space, we built upon the home's spacious open floor plan, transforming its baronial Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic into a bright, modern, sunlit living area.

Casita

If you didn't know, a casita is a small addition to a home that functions almost like a second residence. Officially known as an accessory dwelling unit (ADU), a casita is ideal for guests, aging family members, renters, or use as a home office. Casitas are typically self-contained and include a bedroom, bathroom, and often a small kitchenette.

For this project, we converted an underutilized indoor-outdoor space into a fully enclosed casita, creating a functional home office complete with insulated walls, custom cabinetry, energy-efficient windows, and modern finishes. We also renovated the bathroom to give it a fresh, contemporary look.

Bathrooms

Each bathroom in the home received a complete transformation, replacing the baronial Mediterranean style with a bright, open, and airy modern design. We installed new cabinetry, tile, and fixtures while reconfiguring the floor plans to create layouts that promote openness and ease of movement.
